Stein Hospice provides bereavement services to all community members that have lost a loved one regardless of whether that loved one was involved in the hospice program. Bereavement Support is offered before and after the passing of a loved one and includes the following:
Adult Bereavement
- Bereavement Assessment
- Individual bereavement education and supportive counseling
- Grief Education programs and literature
- Availability of Hospice Library
- Referral to other Agencies and Professional as needed
- Bereavement Volunteers
- Support Groups
- Community Outreach
- Art Therapy
- Holiday Events and Memorial Ceremonies
“Compassionate Friends”
First Thursday of each month at Stein Hospice at 7:30 p.m. Support group for parents who have experienced the death of a child at any age.
“Bunch for Lunch”
First Monday of each month at Stein Hospice.
12:00 p.m.- 1:00p.m.
A potluck luncheon for those that have lost a spouse.
Please bring a covered dish or dessert.
“Huggers and Munchers”
First Tuesday of each month
5:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m.
Support group that meets at a different restaurant each month
for those that have experienced the death of a spouse.
“Share the Journey”
6-week Educational Support Group for those that have lost a spouse.

“Healing Hearts”
A group for young widows and widowers in their
20’s, 30’s, and 40’s.
2nd Tuesday of each month at Stein Hospice Norwalk starting at 6:30 p.m.
3rd Tuesday of each month at Stein Hospice starting at 6:30 p.m.
“Remembering Together”
A perinatal support group for those that have been touched by the tragic death of a baby through miscarriage, stillbirth or infant death.
This group alternates meetings between Stein Hospice and the Bellevue Hospital.

“Serenity Seekers”
A 6-week Educational Support Group for those that have suffered the loss of a loved one.
“Share the Journey”
A six-week support group for those who have lost a spouse.
Child and Teenage Bereavement
- Bereavement Assessment

- Consultation and collaboration with school counselors
- School bereavement intervention program
- Age appropriate materials in Hospice Library
- Support groups
“Good Grief Club”
A grief educational program for ages 5-11 that meets the fourth Tuesday of every month at Stein Hospice from October – April.
“Transformers Group”
This is an after care program designed for those who have completed the “Good Grief Club”. The program is for children ages 6-11 and meets the second Tuesday of the month from October-April.
“Tweens Club”
This program is designed for children ages 11-13 and meets the first Tuesday of the month from October-April.
“Coping through the Holidays”
Is a teenage workshop (ages 13 and up) held annually in November and is open to all teenagers that have experienced a loss.
