Services and Benefits

Through a team of healthcare professionals, hospice provides:

  • Services are available to everyone in need regardless of their ability to pay.
  • Accepts referrals from any family designated physician
  • All prescriptions and over-the-counter medications required to treat the patient’s life limiting illness.
  • Medical equipment and supplies necessary to promote comfort and safety.
  • Stein Hospice has established relationships with nursing and assisted living facilities to provide an additional layer of support to their residents facing end-of-life.
  • Medical care focused on maintaining patient comfort, including frequent nursing assessments, education and support for family members.
  • Coordination of community resources to help the patient and family with non-medical concerns.
  • Assistance for the patient and family in coping with spiritual concerns either through a hospice chaplain or arrangements are made with the patient’s/families chosen spiritual advisor.
  • Admissions within 4 hours of referral 24 hours a day 7 days a week.
  • Regularly scheduled nurses, social worker, chaplain, and nursing assistant visits.
  • On call nurses, social workers and chaplains 24 hours a day 7 days a week to answer questions or provide care and support.
  • Crisis care …..our program of personal one on one nursing for patients experiencing a pain or symptom crisis.
