The Manager of Annual Fund and Events is a leader that will grow fundraising efforts in Erie, Huron, Sandusky, and surrounding counties for Hospice of the Western Reserve. With the recent acquisition of Stein Hospice, the Manager will leverage the excellent reputations of both Stein Hospice and Hospice of the Western Reserve to engage the community in philanthropic support. This employee will work seamlessly with the President of the Hospice of Western Reserve Foundation and have the full support of the development team. As support increases, this position will build a team of highly qualified development professionals for sustained growth. This position is located at the Stein office in Sandusky with regular travel to Cleveland and remote work opportunities.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  • Create and implement an overall development plan including annul and online giving, corporate sponsorships, grants, and event revenue within the first 90 days
  • With volunteer support, manage existing events including staffing all committee meetings and solicit sponsorship and individual support to meet goal of $300K
  • In partnership with information technologies, develop a weekly revenue report by constituency
  • Oversee the administration of ResultsPlus donor database and assist in preparing to merge all contacts and accounts to new donor software by end of the year
  • Benchmark other nonprofit hospices for new and improved giving strategies including grateful family activities, program specific support and prospecting
  • Provide current and prospective corporations with requests for support, recognition, and cultivation throughout the year. Working with the Development team to cultivate, retain and grow corporate interest and philanthropic involvement
  • Oversee the donor communication messaging (newsletter, appeals, website, eBlasts, event video production, social media, collateral etc.) and online giving campaigns, in partnership with the Marketing and Communications Team
  • Utilize tools for peer-to-peer fundraising campaigns, engaging organizational committee members and volunteers.
  • Oversee the acknowledgement and recognition of all annual fund gifts.
  • Provides administrative support for all development team operations, responds to donor inquiries and requests for information, assists with procurement process and oversees management of office supplies.
  • Attends Foundation Board and team meetings and presentations.
  • Assists with preparation of materials for meetings and presentations.
  • Takes notes and prepares minutes and reports as assigned.
  • Represents the development team on specific matters in liaison with other agency teams to advance the mission of Hospice of the Western Reserve.
    Serves as a backup/assistant for other team staff, particularly in the areas of data gift entry and the preparation of donor acknowledgement letters and Annual Fund pledge reminders.
  • Supports print and electronic communication efforts of the Advancement Office.
  • Provides from reception desk coverage as assigned.
  • Assists with various agency events. Manages RSVP lists, creates name tags and related event materials.
  • Helps with online and third-party fundraising activities.
  • Performs data searches in customer relations and patient databases.
  • Performs other administrative duties as requested.

Stein Hospice, currently has an opening for a full-time (36 hours per week), Registered Nurse (RN). This position has the hours of 8pm – 8:30am at our In-Patient-Unit (IPU).

This RN position will require critical thinking and the ability to collaborate with team members as well as families and other care providers.
