Respecting Choices is designed to prepare a person to be an advance care planning facilitator. The program provides educational materials and tools nationally recognized as “best practice” in advance care planning.
This class is open to all healthcare workers and will be held in the Firelands South Campus Conference Room from 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM. The program focuses on helping patients and families make informed treatment decisions for End of Life care. The program requires online course completion prior to classroom session on 9/27. Classroom time is spent on strategies to engage the patient and family and role play exercises. Attendees who successfully complete the online course and classroom final role play competency will be awarded certification as a “Last Steps Advance Care Planning Facilitator.” There are Continuing Education hours for the online and classroom training for social workers and nurses. Physician CME for online hours only.
No healthcare credentials are required to take the class, but healthcare experience is preferred.

Complete online education prior to the start of class on Sept 27 and bring certificate of completion to class
