Light Up A Life

Stein Hospice invites you to the
37th Annual Light Up A Life
in memory of a loved one
or to honor someone living.

A donation of $15.00 or more will light a bulb on one of the Hospice Holiday Trees in Washington Park, Downtown Sandusky, or St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church, Norwalk. Click here to donate online.

This year there will be no in-person ceremonies. The trees will be lit on the below dates and times in their normal locations. We invite you to drive by at your leisure to celebrate your Gift of Life as part of
Light Up A Life

The book of life will be accessible here at the beginning of December.

If you would like to do a personal “Blessing of the Trees” in your car with friends/family, we have included the words to the Blessing and the Song normally spoken and sang at the service:

Leader:    We gather around these trees to reflect upon and thank you for your precious gift of life.

All: Let the heavens be glad and the earth rejoice;
Let the sea and what fills it resound;
Let the plains be joyful and all that is in them!
All the trees of the forest shall exult before the Lord, for He comes to rule the earth.
He shall rule the world with justice and the people with His constancy.
Glory be to God!

Leader:    God said:  Let the earth bring forth vegetation, seed-bearing plants and all kinds of trees that bear fruit containing their seed. And so it was. The Lord God made to grow out of the ground all kinds of trees pleasant to the sight and good for food.

All: Thanks be to God.

Leader:    Let us pray. O Lord, grant abundant grace that we may live life fully and bear the fruit of good works. As we light these holiday trees, bless those we remember and honor.

All: Amen.

“Let There Be Peace on Earth”

 Let there be peace on earth
And let it begin with me
Let there be peace on earth
The peace that was meant to be. . .
With God as our father
Neighbors all are we,
Let me walk with my neighbor
In perfect harmony.

Let peace begin with me
Let this be the moment now,
With every step I take
Let this be my solemn vow . . .
To take each moment
And live each moment
In peace eternally,
Let there be peace on earth
And let it begin with me.
